Position Summary
Manages the planning and operations of a terminal. Oversees various terminal functions, including pickup and delivery, dock operations, and general administration.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
- Directs and coordinates the activities of terminal employees to provide cost effective, timely, and quality service to customers.
- Investigates customer complaints and resolves problems.
- Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Coordinates staffing levels and work scheduling to maximize terminal productivity.
- Oversees compliance with company policies and procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
- Uses software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems.
- Interviews, selects, and onboards terminal employees.
- Facilitates good employee relations through motivation, feedback, and coaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
- 5+ years of terminal operations experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and transportation management applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field
- 5+ years terminal operations experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of transportation management applications
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Experience managing terminal operations including pickup/delivery and dock activities
- Experience supervising, interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and coaching staff
- Ability to use software, data, and analytics to optimize operations and track metrics
- Knowledge of safety rules, company policies, and governmental regulations
- Customer service and problem resolution skills
