It’s an exciting time to join our clubs and we are currently seeking an Assistant Tennis Professional to join our team at Spanish Hills Club.

Job Summary 

The club tennis professional will assist in managing the tennis program. The professional will report directly to the tennis director. The tennis professional is mostly responsible in assisting with the instructional programs as well as activities and tournaments. However, the professional is a hugely important contact person by the membership and must be educated on all facets of the tennis and club operations. The tennis professional will be asked to cover pro-shop hours as well, although this will be worked around the professionals’ tennis lesson schedule. Responsibilities of the professional include:

 

Job Tasks

  • Helping create a high service and friendly atmosphere for all the club members
  • Be educated on all operational facets of the club to better assist the membership.
  • Actively promote and market memberships for the club.
  • Assist in creating an instructional program for adults and junior and summer camp
  • Assists with special tennis events.
  • Teaching of private and group lessons for adults and juniors.
  • Be available to teach at least two Saturday’s every month.
  • Be available for at least one social event every month.
  • Records court reservations and lesson appointments.
  • Turn in required lesson reports on a timely manner.
  • Assist in running and managing club activities and tournaments.
  • Covering of pro shop hours as assigned by Tennis Director.
  • Cover all responsibilities of the pro shop attendant when working the pro shop.
  • Attends staff meetings.
  • Completes other appropriate tasks assigned by the Tennis Director.

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate $20.00
  • Lesson Income Split: 70/30
  • FT & PT positions available

Skills Required

  • Teach private and group lessons for adults and juniors
  • Be available to teach at least two Saturdays every month

  • Assist in creating and running instructional programs, junior programs, and summer camps
  • Assist with and run special tennis events and club tournaments
  • Cover pro shop hours and perform all pro shop attendant responsibilities
  • Record court reservations and lesson appointments and submit timely lesson reports
  • Actively promote and market club memberships
  • Be educated on operational facets of the club and attend staff meetings
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Tennis Director
