The Assistant Technical Director is a member of the Performing Arts Department staff and is responsible for supporting all technical elements of institutional productions and events.
Essential Functions:
The responsibilities of Assistant Technical Director include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinates and implements all day-to-day requests for audio/visual support for all campus events.
- Responsible for the setup, operation, and clean-up of equipment and associated elements for Daily Chapel.
- Assists the Technical Director with coordinating all technical services for the School and outside rental events that occur in the Underwood Theatre and Sarofim Hall.
- Assists with training, coordinating, and supervising student crews to implement designs and operations for all EHS Performing Arts productions.
- Assumes responsibility for the performance of all job duties in a manner to promote a safe work environment and immediately report all preventable hazards and unsafe equipment and practices to administration.
- Manages the inventory of campus audio/visual equipment.
- Coordinates maintenance of all audio/visual equipment.
- Provides special projects support for other departments as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of audio and video systems, theatrical lighting and/or theatrical scenic construction.
- Basic computer skill set (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Basic Excel).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multiple technical aspects of live production (lighting design and implementation, scenic design and construction).
- Experience with video production and editing.
Physical Requirements:
- This position is very physical in nature and requires the ability to exert heavy physical effort.
- Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
- Works in standard office conditions and climate, backstage, onstage, in gallery spaces, in all areas of campus.
- Works in a highly active environment, dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
- May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
Skills Required
