Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Tax Manager/Tax Manager to lead tax compliance and reporting across direct and indirect taxes for the Group. This role owns the accuracy and timeliness of the tax filings across multiple jurisdictions, manages tax audits and ensures tax positions are properly accounted and documented. The ideal candidate combines strong technical tax knowledge with practical experience navigating multiple regulatory regimes, and is comfortable translating global tax requirements into clear, actionable guidance for the business. What you will be responsible for:
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and review tax returns and filings across jurisdictions for direct and indirect taxes (e.g., corporate income tax, VAT/GST, sales and use tax, withholding tax and other applicable taxes)
- Track filing deadlines and obligations across all entities and jurisdictions
- Maintain compliance with local and international tax regulations, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
Tax Accounting & Provisions
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Ensure tax payments are processed timely and accurately and properly recorded in financial accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to tax accounting including reconciliation to tax accounts and effective tax rate analysis
Audit, Controls & Advisory Support
- Lead responses to tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, coordinating documentation, analysis and response strategy.
- Maintain organized tax records and supporting documentation to withstand audit and internal control review.
- Establish and maintain strong internal control over tax-related processes, including review protocols for filings and provisions
- Provide tax support for M&A, restructuring, financing, and other strategic business initiatives including diligence support and structuring analysis
Business partnering & Governance
- Serve as the primary contact for external tax advisors and regulatory bodies;
- Collaborate with internal teams, including finance and legal, to support business decisions.
- Monitor and interpret global tax legislation and assess the impact on business operations;
- Prepare and present consolidated tax forecasts, effective tax rate analysis, and reporting for management;
- Develop internal tax guidelines, process documentation and provide training across departments as needed.
How you will stand out:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field (CPA, CA or equivalent certification is a plus).
- 8 years of experience of relevant experience, ideally in a multinational group, Big 4, or similar environment within multi-jurisdictional exposure
- Strong understanding of direct & indirect tax laws, tax accounting, and transfer pricing principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong business acumen and experience collaborating with commercial and legal teams
- Ability to manage competing priorities independently in a fast-growing, deadline-driven environment
