Key Responsibilities

This role demands a professional with a solid understanding of tax laws and excellent strategic planning and cross functional interaction skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all tax related matters, for all Maersk entities in the Philippines, ensuring compliance with the latest tax regulations, and providing expert tax advice to internal and/or external customers.

• Leadership: Oversee and manage all tax-related matters for Maersk entities in the Philippines, including supervising the tax department.
• Compliance Excellence: Ensure adherence to all local tax laws, regulations, and LGU requirements, including securing business permits.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement effective tax strategies to optimize tax liabilities and identify savings opportunities.
• Audit Coordination: Handle audits with taxation authorities and LGU representatives, ensuring seamless execution.
• Collaborative Solutions: Work closely with internal teams to assess and address tax implications of business decisions.
• Provider Oversight: Review the work of outsourced providers for accuracy and compliance in tax filings.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on evolving industry trends and tax legislation.

Who we are looking for

• Experience: Proven track record in handling tax audits across multiple legal entities, preferably with logistics or shipping industry exposure.
• Expertise: Hands-on experience with tax audits and Big Four background is a significant advantage.
• Education: A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent attention to detail, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
