The Assistant Regional Manager works alongside the Regional Manager to help keep multiple affordable housing communities operating smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with program requirements. This is a hands-on, field-based role that supports Community Managers and steps in to help resolve property issues when needed.

A typical day may include traveling to properties, conducting site inspections, reviewing occupancy and rent collection, monitoring property expenses, helping Community Managers address resident or operational issues, and responding to emergencies. The Assistant Regional Manager also helps identify areas where properties may need additional support and works with the Regional Manager and onsite teams to keep properties on track.

Travel is required at least 50% of the time, and priorities can change quickly depending on what is happening at the properties. The role requires someone who is comfortable being in the field, managing multiple priorities, solving problems, and working closely with different teams.

Success requires strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to build positive relationships with Community Managers and property staff. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and willing to jump in when issues arise to help keep the properties, teams, and residents moving in the right direction.

Qualifications

•    High School Diploma / GED

•    Knowledge of affordable housing federal program requirements and procedures to include, but not limited to, USDA, RD, HUD, LIHTC program compliance
 

Skills Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of affordable housing federal program requirements (USDA, RD, HUD, LIHTC)
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time
  • Ability to occasionally lift items up to 50 lbs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and data management software
  • Strong organizational, communication, analytical, multitasking and prioritization skills
