Job Description

Our Athens office is seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Consulting Engineer to support the successful delivery of transportation and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) projects, including major infrastructure initiatives such as toll collection systems.

This role is ideal for a motivated professional looking to develop their project management and consulting capabilities within a dynamic, international environment. The position combines project coordination, field supervision, and technical support, working closely with senior project leadership and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

This role offers a fascinating variety of daily activities, from managing project execution and leading consulting assignments to excelling in business development tasks. Project Delivery & Coordination

  • Support the planning and execution of projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Assist in tracking project progress and preparing internal and client-facing reports.
  • Coordinate activities across project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings and support documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Help identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.

Field Supervision & Implementation

  • Contribute to on-site supervision activities related to project implementation.
  • Support coordination of site works, inspections, and contractor activities.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
  • Assist in resolving on-site issues in collaboration with the project team.

Technical & Consulting Support

  • Assist in transportation and ITS-related analysis and studies.
  • Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and deliverables.
  • Contribute to data collection, validation, and interpretation of results.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical solutions.

Business & Team Support

  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and bid documentation.
  • Support internal coordination during project pursuits and client engagements.
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and partners.

Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Civil, Electrical, Transport, or related Engineering discipline
  • 3–6 years of relevant professional experience in project delivery, engineering, or consulting
  • Exposure to transportation, infrastructure, or ITS projects is advantageous
  • Understanding of project management principles (certification is a plus, not required)
  • Experience with site-based or field supervision activities is beneficial

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective communication skills in Greek and English (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools; familiarity with project management software is an advantage
