What You'll Do
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Assistant Project Manager is responsible for working with an assigned Project Manager(s) to coordinate and accomplish the necessary project tasks and requirements. The role requires the individual to closely communicate with the Project Manager(s) to ensure key milestones are proactively being monitored and executed on all assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Support project set-up following award and estimate handoff by ensuring project team structure, budget alignment, documentation, and systems are established for an effective kick-off.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the project execution plan, including critical path analysis, risk identification, resource planning, and milestone scheduling to ensure on-time milestone achievements.
- Administer project changes in accordance with established change management procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and clear communication to the Client and project team.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including the project execution plan, risk register, master schedule, health and safety plan, quality plan, and all required Rising Edge documentation.
- Monitor project expenditures and provide regular cost reporting to the Project Manager while tracking budget performance, forecast costs, and align man-hour projections within approved budgets.
- Coordinate procurement activities, including materials, equipment, and subcontracted services, to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Support cash flow management by ensuring timely processing of accounts receivable and payable invoices.
- Prepare and maintain internal and external project reporting while facilitating clear and effective communication between the Client, project team, and key stakeholders.
- Under the direction of the Project Manager(s), support project meetings including kick-offs, progress reviews, change order discussions, recovery planning, and lessons learned sessions.
- Monitor and report on project safety, quality and environmental compliance and acceptance requirements.
- Assist in identifying project staffing needs, including specialty consultants and subcontractors and support the establishment of clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
- Support project close-out activities and post-project reviews to identify performance gaps and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager(s) to support the safe, efficient, and successful execution of assigned projects.

Requirements
What You'll Bring
- Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, Technologist or a related field required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent is preferred
- At least 1 – 3 years’ experience managing medium to large full cycle construction projects required
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to manage a diverse team in a dynamic, dead-line oriented environment are an asset
- Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, HardDollar (InEight) and ViewPoint Construction Software preferred
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required
