The department of Physics and Astronomy at the Prescott Campus is seeking a teaching track assistant professor starting Fall 2025.  The candidate will teach introductory lecture and lab courses serving aviation, engineering, physics, and astronomy undergraduates.  The candidate will also be asked to teach more advanced undergraduate physics or astronomy courses depending on interests and qualifications.  Teaching expectations for this position are equivalent to 4 courses per semester, with additional departmental and campus-level service responsibilities. The successful candidate must have a passion for physics education and an interest in serving students from a variety of backgrounds.  

Minimum

Doctorate in Physics, Astronomy, or closely related fields.  

Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communications skills, and a strong command of the English language are required.  

Preferred

Prior demonstrated teaching experience is strongly desired.  

Particular consideration will be given to candidates with a demonstrated interest and experience in teaching physics laboratory courses.
