The Assistant Professor, Criminal Justice teaches courses for the Criminal Justice Department. The successful candidate will also advise students; participate in accreditation processes; engage in professional scholarship; assist in the development of internship relationships and student opportunities; and participate in school and college-wide service. They will teach courses and advise students for two semesters each year.

The mission of the Criminal Justice and Security Studies Department is to provide students with a broad liberal arts education and a balanced perspective in the study and practices of the criminal justice system. The School of Social Sciences, Communication, and Humanities at Endicott College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor, Criminal Justice to begin in July 1, 2025.

This position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Endicott College Faculty Association (ECFA) and Endicott College. ECFA is a faculty union organized under the NEA (National Educational Association) and provides structure and support for all full-time faculty at Endicott College.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teach 24 credits per academic year -- 12 credits in both the fall and spring semesters (4 lecture courses each semester, or equivalent).

  • Advise up to 25 students.

  • Attend department, school, and college meetings.

  • Participate in accreditation processes.

  • Engage in professional development, scholarship, research, and/or publishing.

  • Assist in curriculum development. 

  • Participate in department, school, and college service.

  • Maintain and post regular office hours. 

  • Perform other duties as required and as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or Criminology, or ABD

  • Open to all areas within the field of Criminal Justice

  • Evidence of professional experience and/or ongoing scholarly activities (research, publications, presentations, etc.) that enhance teaching and deepen knowledge base in subject areas.

  • College-level teaching experience.

  • Desire to work in a student – centered, teaching oriented institution
