Position Summary:

The Assistant Product Manager supports the Product Management team by helping manage automotive product lines throughout the entire product lifecycle—from market research and competitive analysis to new product launches and ongoing product maintenance. This role works cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to ensure products meet customer needs while supporting company growth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in Product Management within the automotive aftermarket industry. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify new product opportunities using market trends, customer feedback, and competitive analysis. 
  • Analyze competitor products, pricing, and market positioning to support business decisions. 
  • Assist in planning and executing successful new product launches. 
  • Maintain accurate product information, specifications, pricing, and catalog data. 
  • Research OEM applications and vehicle information using AllData and other automotive databases. 
  • Coordinate new part number creation and product setup across internal systems.
  • Prepare and analyze reports using Microsoft Excel to support product performance and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop product content, launch materials, and promotional initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to product management processes.
  • Become the subject matter expert for assigned product categories.
  • Communicate effectively with domestic and international suppliers, customers, and internal departments.
  • Assist Product Managers with special projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in Product Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Purchasing,
  • or a related business function.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Preferred:

  • Automotive aftermarket or automotive industry experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude or technical product knowledge.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and product databases.
  • Experience with market research and competitive analysis.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management concepts.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong analytical thinking and business acumen.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and market data.
  • Effective collaboration across multiple departments.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
