What you'll do
This is an exciting role dedicated to supporting the growth of M&S online by delivering our Performance Media strategy through Performance Paid Social & Display activity and Paid Search. The role will report into the Senior Paid Media Manager and sit within the wider FHB Digital Marketing team. The Assistant Performance Marketing Manager will play a hands-on role in delivering efficient performance marketing campaigns across Paid Social and Paid Search, with a strong focus on pacing, testing and optimisation.
• Support the Senior Paid Media Manager with delivering Paid Media performance across FHB and co-ordinate the multi-million pound budget, to ensure maximum performance is delivered at the most efficient cost
• Focus on Menswear Lingerie, Kidswear and 3rd Party Brands BUs
• Activate and manage paid media campaigns across Paid Social and Paid Search in line with agreed briefs, budgets, CPA, ROAS, and revenue targets.
• Take ownership of day to day campaign management, including pacing, budget control, bid management, audience optimisation, creative rotation, and performance troubleshooting.
• Communicate briefs to the Paid Media agency and monitor budgets at a campaign level and BU level
• Co ordinate creative and copy for performance activity, working with organic social teams and agency partners to ensure content is fit for platform and aligned to testing roadmaps.
• Support in gathering creative performance insights to ensure timely feedback for future executions to be shared across internal teams
• Own responses to marketing briefs and campaign PIRs for relevant categories, ensuring learnings are clearly documented and shared with stakeholders.
• Support management and optimisation of product feeds for paid social and search, following best practice and preparing for the evolving future of search.
• Work closely with media agency and platform partners to support annual planning, communicate briefs and priorities, and ensure high quality activation and service delivery.
• Deliver the Paid Media strategy and test and learn roadmap for Paid Social & Search performance FHB
• Deliver ongoing hands on optimisation, running structured tests and applying learnings to continuously improve campaign performance across platforms.
• Leverage data attribution and feed optimisation to support the strategy execution
• Support wider performance marketing initiatives, including MMM understanding, test and learn roadmaps, weekly reporting, industry trend tracking, and delivery of team OKRs.
• Work closely with Online Category Managers, Asst Brand Marketing Managers and fellow Performance Marketing Managers to understand and align activity to business unit priorities and to deliver seamless cross channel/cross BU customer targeting
• Own relevant finance process with key stakeholders, manage and optimise spend & performance, whilst owning internal documentation for spend management.
• Seek out new initiatives in media to optimise and innovate
• Keeping up with industry trends and news and communicating to wider team and business where relevant
Who you are
• Strong background and proven track record in Paid Media marketing (minimum 2 years’ experience required) across Paid Social, Paid Search and Affiliates
• Knowledge of optimization tools, platform bidding strategies, creative testing and measurement approaches
• Ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
• Innovative thinker and able to operate at both a strategic and tactical level with a blend of analytical, creative and numerical skills
• Extremely results driven with a history of delivering short- and long-term customer targets
• Excellent stakeholder management, proven experience of influencing in a complex business
• Strong digital analytics capability and experienced in using marketing tools such as Adobe Analytics
• Confident in managing external agency/supplier relationships
• Ability to work to deadlines, manage multiple projects and react quickly to changing business priorities.
