Job Summary:
The Assistant Operations Manager serves as a key member of the management team and functions as an extension of the Project Manager in the field. This position is responsible for supporting daily operations, supervising field leadership personnel, ensuring quality assurance and quality control standards are met, maintaining compliance with company policies and client requirements, and coordinating administrative and operational functions. The Assistant Operations Manager provides leadership, guidance, and accountability to Lieutenants, Sergeants, and Security Officers while supporting the overall success of the contract.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership
- Provide direct oversight and support to assigned Lieutenants.
- Serve as the Project Manager's representative in the field.
- Monitor operational performance and address issues affecting service delivery.
- Ensure all personnel adhere to company policies, post orders, and client expectations.
- Assist with special projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
Personnel Oversight
- Conduct daily post observations and inspections of Lieutenants, Sergeants, and Security Officers.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching, mentoring, and corrective guidance as needed.
- Coordinate and facilitate biweekly meetings with Lieutenants.
- Coordinate and facilitate quarterly meetings with Sergeants.
- Promote professional development and accountability throughout the leadership team.
Quality Assurance / Quality Control
- Conduct QA/QC inspections to ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Identify deficiencies and implement corrective action plans.
- Review field operations and recommend process improvements.
- Ensure consistent service delivery and contract compliance.
Post and Patrol Management
- Review, update, and modify post orders as operational requirements dictate.
- Review, update, and modify patrol points to maintain effective coverage and accountability.
- Ensure site documentation remains current and accurate.
Fleet and Asset Administration
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair schedules for company vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle geolocation tracking systems to ensure proper vehicle utilization.
- Maintain accountability and oversight of vehicle fuel cards.
- Track and document vehicle-related issues and operational concerns.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Administer Workers' Compensation processes, documentation, and follow-up activities.
- Complete, review, and maintain Use of Force reports and related documentation.
- Ensure all incidents are documented accurately and submitted within established timelines.
- Assist with investigations involving employee injuries, incidents, and operational concerns.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Prepare reports, audits, inspections, and operational summaries.
- Maintain personnel, fleet, and compliance records.
- Communicate operational updates and performance metrics to management.
- Support contract objectives and client service initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three (3) years of supervisory or management experience in security, law enforcement, military, or related operations.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Experience in contract security operations management.
- Knowledge of fleet management systems, GPS tracking platforms, and incident reporting systems.
