Your opportunity

Join Mission Australia's Residential Aged Care team and play an important role in supporting the health, wellbeing and independence of our residents.

As an Assistant in Nursing at Annie Green Court in Redfern, you'll be part of a dedicated team providing high-quality, person-centred care to our residents. Working alongside experienced nurses and care professionals, you'll help create a safe, welcoming and supportive home where residents are treated with dignity, respect and compassion.

From supporting residents with daily activities to providing companionship and care, no two days are the same, and every day offers the chance to positively impact someone's wellbeing.

We currently have AM shifts available (6:30am - 2:36pm) and PM shifts available (2:30pm - 10:36pm), offering flexibility and the opportunity to find a roster that suits your lifestyle.

Your key responsibilities will be to

  • Provide personal care and daily living support in accordance with individual care plans.

  • Promote resident dignity, independence, choice and participation in decision-making.

  • Support residents with meals, continence care and daily routines.

  • Monitor resident wellbeing and promptly report any changes in health, behaviour or care needs.

  • Respond to resident requests for assistance and emergency call bells on time.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation and records.

  • Contribute to care planning, clinical handovers and multidisciplinary reviews.

  • Participate in quality improvement activities, audits and mandatory training.

  • Identify and report incidents, hazards and opportunities for improvement.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.

Requirements for success

  • Certificate III in Aged Care/Assistant in Nursing or currently pursuing a Diploma in Nursing.

  • Previous experience in aged care, healthcare, disability support or a customer-focused environment is desirable.

  • Experience supporting people with activities of daily living is highly regarded.

  • Ability to provide compassionate and person-centred care.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Basic computer literacy and accurate record-keeping skills.

  • Understanding of infection prevention and control practices and safe manual handling techniques.

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
