Job Overview:

Bloomingdale's Marketplace is a rapidly growing digital business that connects customers to an expanded assortment of brands and products through our online marketplace platform. As we continue to scale, we are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Marketplace Assistant to support the day-to-day execution of key Marketplace initiatives.

This position will support the business across three primary areas: Business Development, Onboarding, and Account Management. The Marketplace Assistant will play a critical role in ensuring operational excellence across a portfolio of 300+ marketplace brands, helping to maintain a seamless seller experience from acquisition through launch and ongoing partnership.

Essential Functions:

Business Development Execution

  • Support the seller acquisition process by ensuring prospective brands move efficiently through the pipeline.
  • Maintain business development trackers, reports, and seller documentation
  • Coordinate follow-up communications with prospective marketplace brands
  • Track seller progress and escalate roadblocks and outstanding action items that may impact onboarding timelines

Onboarding Execution

  • Execute key onboarding activities to ensure new sellers are launched on schedule.
  • Create DVNs and manage supporting onboarding documentation
  • Execute seller financial account setup and related administrative processes
  • Monitor onboarding timelines and proactively follow up on open items

Account Management Support

  • Provide operational support to ensure sellers are successfully launching products and engaging with promotions and marketing initiatives.
  • Serve as a day-to-day contact for routine seller communications and follow-up
  • Partner with brands and merchants to facilitate new assortment submissions and approvals
  • Support execution of promotions and other marketing campaigns

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience in merchandising, retail and/or e-commerce, online marketplaces is a plus not a requirement
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn new systems, tools, and processes quickly
  • Resourceful problem solver with a proactive mindset
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners
