Description
The Direct Marketing Assistant Manager focused on Campaign Delivery & Operations serves as the operational execution lead within Direct Marketing and is responsible for delivering enterprise direct marketing campaigns across email, SMS, push notifications, direct mail, and future customer engagement channels.

This role owns the end-to-end campaign execution process, including campaign production, deployment management, quality assurance, workflow optimization, and operational governance. The position ensures customer communications are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule while continuously improving operational processes, documentation, and team capabilities.

This role directly supervises the Direct Marketing Coordinator and serves as the primary operational partner to the Direct Marketing Associate Manager and the Direct Marketing Assistant Manager focused on Customer Intelligence & Personalization.
 

Responsibilities
 

 Campaign Delivery
•    Lead end-to-end execution of enterprise direct marketing campaigns across all customer communication channels.
•    Manage campaign production schedules and deployment timelines.
•    Coordinate campaign setup and execution activities within marketing platforms.
•    Ensure all campaigns are executed accurately and according to approved requirements.
•    Manage execution of promotional, lifecycle, triggered, and always-on communications.
•    Monitor campaign launches and resolves execution issues as necessary.
•    Coordinate execution of testing initiatives and campaign experiments.
•    Support implementation of new channels and communication capabilities.
 

   Marketing Operations
•    Establish and maintain enterprise campaign production standards.
•    Develop and manage operational workflows and processes.
•    Create and maintain campaign execution documentation and standard operating procedures.
•    Define service-level expectations for campaign delivery.
•    Coordinate campaign resources and workload planning.
•    Maintain campaign calendars and deployment schedules.
•    Partner with Marketing Technology on platform enhancements and operational requirements.
•    Support vendor relationships and operational partnerships.

   Quality Assurance & Compliance
•    Own enterprise quality assurance standards and processes.
•    Develop and maintain deployment readiness checklists.
•    Validate links, tracking parameters, offers, dynamic content, and personalization.
•    Review campaigns for accuracy and adherence to approved requirements.
•    Coordinate rendering and functionality testing across channels and devices.
•    Monitor compliance with operational standards and governance requirements.
•    Document and resolve operational issues and defects.
•    Conduct post-launch validation and issue management.
 

 Project & Resource Management
•    Coordinate campaign execution across multiple concurrent projects.
•    Prioritize workloads and allocate resources effectively.
•    Manage campaign intake from an operational perspective.
•    Facilitate operational meetings and status updates.
•    Identify risks to timelines and deliverables and develop mitigation plans.
•    Coordinate dependencies across business partners and vendors.
•    Monitor production capacity and recommend resource adjustments.
 

 Operational Excellence
•    Continuously improve operational processes and workflows.
•    Identify opportunities for automation and increased efficiency.
•    Develop reusable templates and standardized processes.
•    Reduce campaign cycle times and operational errors.
•    Establish operational metrics and reporting.
•    Support implementation of new technologies and capabilities.
•    Drive operational scalability and organizational readiness.
 

Team Leadership
•    Directly supervise the Direct Marketing Coordinator.
•    Provide coaching, training, and professional development.
•    Establish clear goals and performance expectations.
•    Manage workload planning and prioritization.
•    Develop backup coverage and knowledge-sharing practices.
•    Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
•    Support onboarding and training of future team members.
 

Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
•    3+ years of direct marketing, campaign operations, marketing operations, CRM, or related experience.
•    1+ years of project leadership or people management experience preferred.
•    Experience managing large-scale marketing campaigns and operational workflows.
•    Strong project management and organizational skills.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
•    Strong attention to detail and process discipline.
•    Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.
