Assistant Manager – People & Culture (HR Operations)

Position Summary:

The Assistant Manager – People & Culture (HR Operations) will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day HR operations and ensuring seamless HR processes across the employee life cycle. The role will support strategic HR initiatives, maintain compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements, and foster a positive work environment aligned with organizational values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end employee life cycle processes including onboarding, induction, employee record management, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and exit formalities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate HR operational deliverables (employment letters, confirmations, transfers, etc.).
  • Oversee HRIS management and maintain updated employee records.
  • Coordinate with finance and payroll teams for monthly inputs and ensure smooth salary processing.
  • Support compliance activities including labor laws, POSH, internal audits, and HR policies.
  • Handle employee queries related to HR operations and provide effective resolutions.
  • Support in implementing employee engagement initiatives and wellness programs.
  • Assist in HR data reporting, HR metrics tracking, and MIS preparation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems, processes, and employee experience.
  • Act as a bridge between the HR team and employees to uphold organizational culture and values.

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of core HR operations and local labor laws.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Proficient in HR systems (HRIS), MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse teams.
  • Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • MBA or PG Diploma in HR (preferred).
  • 6 years of relevant experience in HR operations, preferably in a mid to large-sized organization.

Work Conditions:

  • Full-time position based at the Gurgaon office.
  • Willingness to support occasional travel or extended hours during critical HR cycles (e.g., audits, payroll closing, onboarding seasons).
