About the job
Are you ready to take the next step in your finance career within an FTSE 100 company? We’re looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to play a key role in delivering accurate and timely monthly management accounts. You’ll help ensure the integrity of financial reporting by producing precise numbers, following robust processes, and continuously identifying ways to improve.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the cost and commercial finance teams, building trust and confidence through your insights and expertise. You’ll support the wider Finance Community by providing accurate data and ensuring clear communication of monthly accounting entries across the P&L and balance sheet. You’ll also play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing existing financial controls.
The core responsibilities around this role will include supporting the delivery of the management accounts for Autorama UK Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary, including the month-end reporting pack, preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting on cost partnering with stakeholders across the business.
The role is based in our Head Office in Manchester but would require an element of travel (funded by Auto Trader) to Hemel Hempstead, averaging once a month but will be discussed on application.

What we're looking for
- Working towards or ready to start a professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with a desire to complete this qualification
- Experience working in a management accounts or finance environment
- Competent in Excel with the ability to manipulate data
- Ability to work on a range of finance systems
- You’ll be able to demonstrate your curiosity by constantly looking for ways to improve processes
- You’ll love collaborating and be able to clearly communicate data in an effective way.

We’re offering a salary of £28,000 – £33,000, plus an additional 10% of your salary awarded to you in shares each year. These awarded shares will become yours in yearly installments over the next three years, and you can choose to either sell them or keep them as shares.
