Polypipe Building Services houses well-known industry brand Terrain and has been delivering systems to commercial, high rise residential, healthcare, education and leisure projects for over 50 years.
The Role
The Assistant Management Accountant's role will provide accurate financial reporting, manufacturing cost analysis and performance insights to enable effective operational and strategic decision making.
The key accountabilities and responsibilities of the role includes:
- Calculate and maintain monthly intercompany pricing.
- Complete periodic operational statutory reporting, including National Statistics submissions.
- Prepare GRNI (Goods Received Not Invoiced) balance sheet reconciliations for review by the Finance Manager.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journals
- Produce and deliver accurate daily, weekly, and monthly financial and operational reports within agreed timescales.
- Produce and analyse manufacturing KPI reports for operational colleagues.
- Support the Management Accountant in analysing manufacturing costs, labour costs, overhead absorption, and production variances.
- Support the Management Accountant with inventory valuation processes, stock reconciliations, and periodic stock counts.
- Assist with the investigation of inventory discrepancies and manufacturing variances.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support finance projects as required by the Finance Manager.
We are looking for someone who meets the following person specification:
- Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA (study support can be provided)
- Commercial and/or industry experience
- Good understanding and experience of ERP systems (SAGE is desirable but not essential)
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
Working hours & Benefits:
- Monday - Friday - 37.5 hours per week - this is a hybrid position with 3 days minimum in the office and 2 days optional from home
