Job Summary:

The Assistant HR Consultant supports Acrisure HR Intelligence in delivering practical, responsive, and high-quality HR solutions to client organizations. Working under the direction of experienced HR Consultants, this position provides tactical, administrative, and project support across a broad range of HR consulting engagements, including HR compliance, policies and procedures, employee relations, leave administration, performance management, compensation, and other workforce initiatives.

The Assistant HR Consultant also helps clients strengthen their HR infrastructure through the effective use of payroll systems, HR information systems (HRIS), and other HR technologies. This includes supporting system reviews, data analysis, reporting, process documentation, implementation activities, and the integration of technology-enabled HR practices into clients’ day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Researches assigned client questions and prepares accurate, well-organized draft responses, recommendations, and work products for HR Consultant review.

  • Supports client engagements involving employee handbooks, policies and procedures, job descriptions, performance management, compensation, employee relations, leave administration, HR compliance, and other workforce initiatives.

  • Prepares professional client deliverables, including reports, presentations, training materials, employee communications, templates, trackers, and implementation resources

Assists with the review and administration of client payroll and HRIS processes, including employee data management, reporting, workflow configuration, onboarding, timekeeping, benefits administration, leave tracking, performance management, and other system-supported processes.

  • Helps evaluate clients’ existing HR technologies and operational workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, data-quality concerns, and opportunities for process improvement.

  • Supports HRIS, payroll, and other HR technology implementations or transitions through data collection, system audits, testing, documentation, client communication, and project coordination.

  • Uses HR data and system-generated reports to identify trends, validate information, develop client metrics, and support informed decision-making.

  • Assists clients in documenting and integrating effective HR processes, programs, and best practices into their daily operations.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment requirements, including the FLSA, ADA, FMLA, NLRA, OSHA, ACA, ERISA/COBRA, HIPAA, and applicable civil rights and employment laws.

  • Escalates complex, sensitive, or potentially high-risk client matters to the appropriate HR Consultant or internal subject-matter expert.

  • Maintains complete, accurate, and confidential client records, project documentation, deliverables, and related HR metrics.

  • Accurately records time and maintains project status information through Acrisure HR Intelligence’s internal work management systems.

  • Monitors emerging HR trends, legislative developments, best practices, and technology solutions that may affect clients.

  • Participates in internal meetings, client meetings, training programs, professional development sessions, conferences, and industry events as assigned.

  • Collaborates with HR Consultants and other Acrisure colleagues to provide clients with coordinated solutions across HR, benefits, payroll, compliance, and related service areas.

  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial- Organizational Psychology, or a related field.

  • One to three years of experience in human resources, payroll, HR operations, HR technology, or a related professional environment preferred.

  • Experience working with one or more payroll, HRIS, timekeeping, benefits administration, applicant tracking, leave management, or performance management platforms preferred.

  • Foundational understanding of HR principles, employment practices, and federal and state employment regulations.

  • Strong interest in developing a career in HR consulting and supporting multiple client organizations.

  • Ability to research unfamiliar topics, analyze information, identify potential concerns, and use sound judgment regarding when matters should be escalated.

  • Strong analytical aptitude and comfort working with employee data, reports, spreadsheets, systems, and process documentation.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including meticulous grammar, punctuation, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate sensitive or technical information professionally, tactfully, and in a clear and concise manner.

  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, client-service environment.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while remaining responsive to direction, feedback, and established review processes.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive employee, company, and client information.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and related productivity tools.

  • Experience with data reporting, advanced Excel functionality, workflow tools, or emerging HR technologies is a plus.

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, aPHR, payroll certification, HRIS certification, or demonstrated progress toward an applicable credential is preferred but not required.

Travel Requirements

This position will require frequent travel to client locations predominantly in our region of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Additionally, occasional travel by plane may be necessary for conferences or other work-related events throughout the year.

Pay Details:

The base compensation range for this position is $37 - $40. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
