The Assistant Grounds and Landscaping Manager is responsible for the preventive maintenance programs of the gardens and green areas throughout the Resort and Residence  

The management level for this position is:   

Operations – Assistant Department Head

Knowledge and Skills   

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the preventive maintenance of the gardens and green areas.   

  • Self-driven and a strategic resourcing professional.   

  • Able to work independently and under pressure in a fast pace working environment.   

  • Experience coordinating work with external contractors. 

  • Good command of both written and spoken Spanish and English.   

  • Great organizational skills    

  • Attention to detail    

  • Able to multitask and prioritize workload and projects simultaneously and efficiently.   

Master Your Craft  

  • Supervises that daily rounds and routines are carried out based on the availability of human resources, having the ability to be dynamic to adjust daily routine in extraordinary cases, taking into account his subordinates. 

  • Information is given on points relevant to the morning shift observed by the previous afternoon shift, which could affect their area or the department, through the electronic means available. 

  • Uses the HotSOS computer system for the coordination and programming of the requirements of the different departments, as well as the management and proper use of the radio with all its communication equipment. 

  • Make monthly reports on the gardens in general to review their progress and improvements. 

  • Manage a list of suppliers to request quotes from different suppliers for the purchase and supply of gardening products, as well as plants. 

  • Records and keeps track of the progress of maintenance programs (fumigation, fertilization, pruning, irrigation, garbage disposal, raking), always seeking to comply with what is established, touring the areas with the staff. Have the ability to propose solutions (taking into account your subordinates) to make adjustments and comply with what is established. 

  • Check that all the tasks and records of the various operation reports are carried out to detect in time, garden areas in poor condition during the operation, which could affect the experience of the guest, collaborators and the integrity of the Resort and Residences. 

  • Conduct daily tours of the Resort and Residence areas to detect improvement situations and give points of view to the supervisors. 

  • Supports the Engineering Management, in establishing the maximum and minimum of the irrigation material, which must be in the warehouse. 

  • Review gardener assignments and adjust according to operation priorities. 

  • Review the condition of tools and safety equipment, and their correct use by gardening personnel, whether internal or external. 

  • Coordinates with those responsible for the area and supervision, the programming of preventive maintenance and reforestation of the different areas in poor conditions. 

  • Make photographic reports in case someone is damaging the gardens or misusing them by pouring substances or objects that affect the integrity of the garden (if you are guests, never take a photo of the person). 

  • Keeps Division Management informed of the progress and status of work in progress.
