Position Purpose:
Provide legal advice and services in the area of provider network contracting, including advising management concerning contract language, legal strategy, and state and federal requirements relating to provider networks. Draft, review and/or negotiate contracts and other documents.
- Serves as a resource to Centene departments and entities for research and interpretation of specific healthcare policies and regulations.
- Provides day-to-day legal advice to Centene entities to define and develop solutions to legal issues arising in the context of provider contacting.
- Supports local and national-level Provider Contracting & Network Development units by assessing and translating complex contract language and authorities into understandable information and facilitating the analysis of business implications.
- Reviews, drafts and negotiates contracts, legal memoranda and related documents.
- Manages outside counsel and directs, monitors and develops legal strategies in connection with litigation and arbitration disputes.
- Directs and conducts training and preventative law activities.
Education/Experience:
Juris Doctor (JD) required
3+ years of related experience required
1+ years of managed care experience preferred
Knowledge of Medicare and/or Medicaid insurance, state insurance and HMO regulations preferred
1+ years of experience with government contract law or health law preferred
Bar Admission and currently in good standing required
Pay Range: $142,300.00 - $263,500.00 per year
