Job Purpose
You will support the Financial Controller in delivering accurate financial reporting, month-end close, and balance sheet control for GSK Pakistan. You will work closely with local business partners, shared services, tax and statutory providers, and regional finance teams. Responsibilities
- Lead and execute month-end close activities for assigned legal entities, including preparation and review of journals.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and high-risk account reviews, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of open items.
- Produce monthly financial packs and present results and insights to the Financial Controller and business stakeholders.
- Ensure accounting treatments follow IFRS and local statutory requirements and apply internal control standards consistently.
- Support statutory reporting, tax submissions and external audit requests by coordinating with external advisers and shared service teams.
- Drive process improvements and participate in local finance projects to increase efficiency and control.
Education, Experience and Skills
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting, audit, financial reporting or controlling.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS) and month-end close procedures.
- Experience preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and analytical reviews.
- Strong communication skills in English. Urdu or other local language skills are an advantage.
- Proficient in Excel and experience with ERP or financial reporting systems.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent) part-qualified or completed.
- Experience with SAP or other large ERP systems and with reporting tools (Power BI, Lumira or similar).
- Experience working in a multinational company or shared service environment.
- Proven experience supporting external audits and statutory reporting.
- Demonstrated process improvement experience and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to present financial insight to senior stakeholders and influence decisions.
