Preferred Qualifications
Candidates should ideally have:
Previous experience as a Security Manager, Assistant Director, Operations Manager, Security Supervisor, or similar leadership position.
Experience managing security operations in a shopping center, luxury retail, hospitality, commercial property, or similarly complex environment.
Strong computer and technology skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic reporting systems.
Experience supervising and developing personnel.
Experience preparing professional reports and presentations.
Knowledge of emergency management and incident-response procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Currently looking for an Assistant Security Director to support the Director in the daily management of security operations, personnel, client relations, administrative functions, and overall property operations at Shops at Merrick Park.
 
The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership and security-management experience while also demonstrating a high level of proficiency in technology, office management, reporting, data management, and administrative operations. This position requires someone who can effectively bridge the gap between field operations and professional office administration.
Primary Responsibilities
The Assistant Director will be responsible for assisting with:
Daily oversight and coordination of security personnel and operations.
Supporting the Director with staffing, scheduling, post assignments, and operational coverage.
Supervising and mentoring Security Supervisors and Officers.
Conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with company and property policies.
Responding to incidents, emergencies, disturbances, and other security-related situations.
Maintaining strong relationships with property management, tenants, retailers, vendors, law enforcement, emergency services, and other stakeholders.
Reviewing incident reports, daily activity reports, logs, and other operational documentation.
Assisting with investigations and follow-up on security incidents.
Supporting emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, and crisis-response planning.
Monitoring performance, attendance, training, and employee accountability.
Assisting with hiring, onboarding, coaching, disciplinary actions, and employee development.
Providing operational support to the Director during special events, high-profile activities, and increased-traffic periods.
Technology & Systems Management
A key requirement for this position is strong technological proficiency.
The Assistant Director should be comfortable working with modern security and business technology, including:
Security management and reporting software.
CCTV/video surveillance systems.
Pay Range

$27.00
