Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director for Vertical Integrated Projects (VIP) Program. - Boca Raton, FL.
The Assistant Director for the Vertical Integrated Project (VIP) Program provides administrative support and is responsible for implementing the grant-funded program. Works collaboratively with the project principal investigator(s) and the VIP Advisory board to ensure the goals and objectives of the VIP program and grant-related research activities are met annually.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Facilitate new and current cross-disciplinary VIP project opportunities and support the establishment of VIP Teams around these themes.
- Facilitate the selection and establishment of 4 VIP cohort teams each year, including faculty VIP leads and VIP students participating in the VIP teams.
- Direct the recruitment of students into VIP teams each semester.
- Develop and implement professional development and educational opportunities for VIP students and faculty.
- Participate in pursuing research questions and scholarly activity related to the FIPSE grant.
- Facilitate VIP program assessment, including annual reporting requirements, to ensure success and meet the goals of the FIPSE grant.
- Collaborate with the project principal investigator(s) and VIP Advisory board to ensure the goals and objectives of the VIP program are met on an annual basis.
- Establish and maintain partnerships and funding opportunities, both internal and external to FAU, related to cross-disciplinary research themes towards the sustainability of the VIP program.
- Supervise the VIP Graduate Assistant and the VIP Peer mentors and offer onboarding and professional development.
- Guide and mentor VIP students regarding research resources, internal and external to FAU.
- Responsible for course and program administration.
- Participate in the VIP Consortium and collaborate with other VIP teams across the nation.
- Potentially teach one section of the VIP interdisciplinary course each year and oversee other instructors who teach additional sections.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience required.Demonstrated ability to utilize existing analytical tools for evaluation and assessment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in multiple contexts with diverse audiences (faculty, students, administration, industry etc.).
Experience mentoring students.
Familiarity with research processes within an academic framework.
Ability to lead multiple projects.
Detail-oriented, with strong interpersonal communication skills to work with groups of students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Experience with research, administrative experience in project implementation and management.
Knowledge of fundamentals of AI, AI tools, and Data-Science methods is recommended.
Salary:
