POSITION SUMMARY:

Assistant Director, Supply Chain is responsible for developing, planning, executing, and maintaining all sourcing initiatives for the supply chain functions, focusing on procurement of products and services in accordance with the Company’s Policies and Procedures.

Continuously improves and re-evaluates sourcing activities of the categories, assist in developing a strategic vendor management partnership and represents the company in all dealings and negotiations with the suppliers.

Assess category spending with the BI team, identify suitable sourcing options, negotiate with suppliers (product, service level, price, geographical coverage, payment terms, lead time, etc.), track results and cost savings against Melco company standards and requirements. This position is required to collaborate closely with other Business Units across all properties, including City of Dreams, Studio City, Altira, and Mocha Clubs in Macau and other Melco properties located overseas.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, develop, execute and manage strategic sourcing initiatives for the Supply Chain functions focusing on procurement of services including but not limited to maintenance services, equipment rental, office leasing, transportation, logistics, consultancy, HODW related services and products.

  • Lead the negotiation for key projects and spearhead robust RFPs to secure optimum terms for assigned categories with suppliers.

  • Consult with Legal and key stakeholders for the agreements and resolve any problems prior to contract execution and contract management.

  • Be a strategic partner to key stakeholders and collaborate with them to ensure the project milestones and goals are met, products are delivered on schedule and adhere to the approved budget.  

  • Consistently develop a trusting relationship and working rapport with team members and business units and ensure a positive approach to work whilst assisting the broader Supply Chain team and key users as needed.

  • Provide guidance and ensure the team and business units comply with Supply Chain policies and procedures.

  • Assist the business in handling new development opportunities both within and outside of Macau.

  • Support overseas projects as assigned and must be prepared to travel and be based at overseas properties on a short-term basis to monitor the project progress.

  • Provide leadership, train, develop, and mentor the team to enhance their technical knowledge and soft skills. Ensure the team completes their assigned tasks diligently.

  • Work cross-functionally with other Business Units to ensure proper support to the business.

  • Other duties as assigned from time to time by the management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience                                                                          

  • At least 10 years relevant experience in a similar position dealing with big scale and complex service agreements.

  • Preferably with experience in the hospitality, gaming or integrated resort environments.

  • Extensive sourcing experience in products and services with global procurement experience is preferred.

  • Solid project and excellent contract management experience and ability to negotiate complex contracts independently.

  • Demonstrate experience in strategic sourcing techniques to provide cost savings while maintaining quality.

  • Excellent business, financial and negotiating skills.

  • Possess strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Experience with ERP systems and Contract Management systems

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products

  • Knowledge of legal contract terms and conditions

Education

  • Appropriate tertiary education, major in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business Administration.

  • Recognised professional accreditation, CPM or CPSM.
