The Assistant Director, Stakeholder Engagement is responsible for leading and implementing the existing and new initiatives to drive, facilitate and execute new opportunities for students’ I&E growth journeys as part of a holistic entrepreneurship education.

The incumbent is responsible for identifying and facilitating collaboration between NTU community and external stakeholders, such as ESG, ACE, SGInnovate, Social Impact Catalyst, raiSE etc and government or government funded institutions. The incumbent will facilitate to connect NTU students to available resources (for example, equipment) and facilities (Innovation Ports and Makers’ Labs) on campus. This role will work with the relevant managers of these resources to provide the necessary support and accelerate students’ I&E journeys.

The incumbent will play a strategic role in designing and curating high-impact Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) initiatives that bridge students with industry, ecosystem partners, and global opportunities. This role focuses on expanding and strengthening students’ I&E pathways, through curated activities and collaborations with strategic partners to enhance relevant industry knowledge, expertise, and real-world experience to enrich learning and venture-building outcomes.

Working across institutions of the NTU I&E and NTU schools, the role focuses on enabling students across disciplines to translate ideas into viable startups through structured, outcome-based initiatives, as well as strengthening NTUpreneur’s position within the local and global entrepreneurship ecosystem through strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement.

Job Responsibilities:

Drive, design, strengthen, and promote NTU Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) Pathway for Students

  • Provide leadership to strengthen existing I&E Pathway for NTU students. 

  • Conceptualise, and organise impactful and outcome-driven co-curricular I&E programmes, to increase entrepreneurial skillsets and experience in real-world situations and exposure to industry,

  • Grow student leadership in I&E activities through targeted strategy, for example, proactive engagement with relevant students’ Clubs and Societies, and other student networks to lead I&E activities on campus.

Lead Stakeholder Engagement and Industry Partnership Development

  • Identify, build, and sustain strong relationships with alumni, local and international industry partners, startups, venture capitalists, accelerators, and ecosystem players.

  • Through partnerships, create meaningful opportunities to increase knowledge on venture creation, opportunities for venture incubation, increase local and global exposure to the I&E ecosystem.

  • Increase NTU I&E visibility and reputation locally and internationally, through active participation and by organising representatives in events organised by high-profile institutions/ organisations.

Drive internal collaboration towards NTU I&E Alignment

  • Identify opportunities and drive collaborations with faculty, Leads of the undergraduate, postgraduate teams, and experiential learning (student venture support) teams to align programmes and their objectives for stronger outcomes.

  • Support cross-functional initiatives within NTUpreneur and the broader NTU I&E ecosystem.

Oversee the design and implementation of major University I&E events to ensure effective outcomes and implement effective outreach strategies to reach the targeted audience

  • Conceptualise I&E engagement activities with strong value proposition to attract students to pursue entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurship in major university-level events such as the annual Open House, Freshmen Orientation, and NTUpreneur Day, the annual Chua Thian Poh Pinnacle Prize and Distinguished Speakers Series.

  • Engage strategic partners of other NTU’s departments such as NTUitive, International Engagement Office, Alumni Engagement Office to organise I&E activities etc.

Drive, and oversee the implementation of  effective outreach and marketing materials to promote NTUpreneur’s activities

  • Conceptualise effective and targeted marketing and outreach strategies to promote our academic, experiential learning (I&E Pathways) programmes.

  • Oversee and coordinate with academic programme teams to ensure that NTUpreneur’s website is updated promptly and check on compliance of NTU I&E Corporate Guidelines for all EDMs and brochures.

  • Manage by creating or coordinating content creation of NTUpreneur’s social media. Report engagement results on a monthly basis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s (Hons) Degree (Preferably in Entrepreneurship or Business)

  • At least 5 years relevant work experience in a university and multi-disciplinary environment. Experience in the startup ecosystem is a plus.

  • Experience in fact-finding and analysing data to ensure effective outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders

  • Experience in working with professors, I&E government funding agencies, MNCs with innovation arm.

  • Good communication skills

  • Knowledge in entrepreneurship, start-up development and ecosystem

  • Knowledge of best practices in venture support in world-class universities as part of a holistic entrepreneurship education

  • Knowledge in government grants, and other available support from related agencies for startups in Singapore

  • Experience in budget planning, managing and processing claims in grants

  • Enjoy working with students, empowering and helping them to accelerate their I&E journeys

  • Capability to work independently to drive the execution of projects, but with strong attributes of a team player

  • Demonstrated resourcefulness, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently, even under tight deadlines

  • Meticulous and eye for details in organising information and tracking work progress

  • Creative and refreshing ideas and demonstrated experience in organising large-scale events
