Assistant Director of Sales
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking an Assistant Director of Sales. In this position, your primary objective is to assist the Director of Sales in overseeing and supporting the sales activity and production of the sales team to ensure the achievement of shared goals. The primary objective is to solicit, develop, and maintain accounts in assigned market segments through direct sales efforts and to ensure budgeted financial results are achieved and exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing strategies to drive group, event, and corporate bookings.
- Mentor sales staff, track performance, and guide team members in achieving their goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients and event planners.
- Oversee sales for conventions, weddings, retreats, and special events.
- Collaborate with operations, catering, and convention services for seamless guest experiences.
- Maintain CRM records, analyze sales data, and support budget and forecast planning.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of hotel sales management experience, preferably at a property with over 500 guest rooms and at least 75,000 square feet of event space.
- Proven success in developing, managing, and closing group business.
- At least two years of experience as a Senior Sales Manager, with a focus on:
- Building and maintaining client relationships
- Identifying client needs and providing tailored solutions
- Overcoming objections and effectively closing sales
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to establish rapport with prospects, guide them through the sales process, and secure business efficiently.
