You will be a part of HPB’s Risk Management & Compliance team, which plays a key role in strengthening the organisation’s risk management, governance and resilience capabilities. The team partners divisions to foster a positive risk culture, provide risk advisory and business partnering, drive incident management and business continuity initiatives, and support governance processes that enable informed decision-making. You will also have opportunities to contribute to organisational excellence, digitalisation and process improvement efforts, helping to build a more resilient, accountable and future-ready organisation.

[What you will be working on]

Reporting to the Deputy Director (Risk Management, Operational Excellence and Compliance), you will contribute to strengthening HPB's risk management, governance and organisational resilience capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to work across divisions to support the integration of risk management practices into business operations, enabling informed decision-making, effective governance and organisational effectiveness.

As Assistant Director (Risk Management and Compliance), you will partner divisions to strengthen risk awareness, ownership and accountability across the organisation. You will support the implementation of risk culture initiatives, develop practical resources and guidance, and work with stakeholders to build capabilities that promote risk-informed decision-making and sound management practices.

You will provide risk advisory and business partnering support to divisions, helping stakeholders identify, assess and manage risks effectively. Through these engagements, you will contribute to the consistent application of risk management practices across the organisation.

You will support key enterprise risk management processes, including Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) activities and the administration of the Integrated Risk Management System. Working with system users, stakeholders and vendors, you will help ensure the effective operation of risk management processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

You will support the organisation's incident management and business continuity management efforts, including incident assessment, reporting and escalation processes, as well as initiatives to strengthen organisational preparedness and resilience. This includes working with divisions and stakeholders on incident management practices and business continuity.

You will also support governance and management reporting processes through the coordination of risk governance platforms, preparation of management information and follow-up of key decisions and actions. In addition, you will contribute to divisional administration and corporate coordination activities that support the effective functioning of the Division.

During the initial onboarding period, you will have the opportunity to support selected organisational excellence, digitalisation and process improvement initiatives, working with stakeholders to review workflows, identify improvement opportunities and facilitate the implementation of practical solutions that enhance operational effectiveness.

This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse stakeholders across HPB and contribute to initiatives that strengthen governance, resilience and organisational effectiveness.

[What we are looking for]

We are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, collaborative and comfortable working across a diverse range of governance, risk and organisational resilience matters. You should possess:

  • Experience or strong interest in enterprise and operational risk management, governance, compliance, business continuity management or related disciplines.
  • The ability to build engage stakeholders and provide practical, balanced advice on risk, governance and operational issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues, exercise sound judgement and develop pragmatic solutions.
  • Good project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear management reports and presentations.
  • An aptitude for stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration, with the confidence to work with colleagues at different levels across the organisation.
  • A proactive and self-driven approach, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • An interest in continuous improvement, digitalisation and organisational effectiveness, with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance processes and ways of working.
  • Experience in risk management, governance, compliance, business continuity management, programme management, audit, organisational excellence or related fields would be an advantage.

Successful candidates will be offered a 1-year contract
