Position Overview 
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support clinical operations within a skilled nursing facility. Strong candidates will work closely with the Director of Nursing to help oversee nursing staff, maintain regulatory compliance, support quality initiatives, and ensure smooth day-to-day clinical operations throughout the facility. 

The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, adaptable, and comfortable working within a fast-paced healthcare environment. 

Location: Pittsburgh, PA 
Work Setting: Onsite 
Employment Type: Full-Time 
Salary Range: $90,000 – $115,000 USD/Annually

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the Director of Nursing with daily clinical operations 
  • Assist with oversight of nursing staff, scheduling, and workflow coordination 
  • Help maintain compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations 
  • Participate in survey preparedness and quality improvement initiatives 
  • Support infection prevention and resident care programs 
  • Assist with staff education, mentoring, and performance management 
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency 
  • Help foster a positive and accountable clinical culture throughout the facility 
  • Support implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and best practices 
  • Monitor documentation standards and assist with maintaining regulatory compliance 
  • Assist leadership with staff development, retention, and operational support initiatives 

Qualifications 

  • Active RN license in Pennsylvania 
  • Previous nursing leadership experience within skilled nursing or long-term care preferred 
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and clinical operations 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills 
  • Ability to multitask and thrive within a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong team-oriented mindset with a hands-on leadership approach 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and facility leadership 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality resident care 

Compensation
The published salary range is used as a guide to provide prospective candidates with a level of compensation that is competitive with today’s market. The salary range for this position is a good faith estimate that allows for flexibility to align with various levels of experience, education, and performance.
