This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.

HarbourVest Partners (HVP) is seeking an Assistant Director with approximately 7-10 years of accounting experience. The Assistant Director, Fund Oversight will work closely with an experienced group of professionals to support the end-to-end oversight of a diverse group of private equity funds.

What you will do:
  • Support oversight of assigned funds throughout the quarterly reporting lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in compliance with governing documents.

  • Review and/or prepare:

    • Quarterly NAV calculations

    • All supporting accounting documentation and reconciliations

    • Investment valuations

    • Quarterly and annual reporting, including capital account statements and audited financial statements under US GAAP and/or IFRS

    • Ad hoc reporting and client information requests

  • Find opportunities to enhance efficiency, controls, scalability, and data quality.

  • Perform other responsibilities as needed.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge

Education Preferred:
  • BS/BA (or European equivalent) – Business - Finance, Economics or Accounting

Experience:
  • 7-10 Years relevant experience

Skills Required

  • 7-10 years relevant accounting experience
  • Technical expertise in private equity and investment company accounting
  • Experience preparing or reviewing quarterly NAV calculations, reconciliations, and investment valuations
  • Experience preparing quarterly and annual reporting including capital account statements and audited financial statements under US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • High level of attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
  • BS/BA in Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting (or equivalent)
