Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens opened in March 2019 and provides a preferred address for both business and leisure travelers, and the highly personalized, anticipatory service that Four Seasons guests expect and value around the world. The Arion Hotel was built in 1967 and has 106 keys and 61 Bungalows, and the Nafsika opened in 1980 and has 136 keys. Under the same ownership is a large private beach club and marina. Nafsika is open through the year, while Arion and the bungalows operate eight months of the year. Adding to the complement of on-site F&B operations (8 Restaurants and Bars), there are also two third party restaurants on site.

About the role

At Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens, we believe that our people are the cornerstone of excellence. We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Engineering to join our dedicated Engineering team. In this key leadership role, you will support the Director of Engineering in ensuring the flawless maintenance and operation of our resort’s physical assets, while upholding the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and guest satisfaction.

What You Will Do:

• Assist in hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling maintenance staff, ensuring accountability and high performance.
• Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs for all resort facilities and equipment.
• Conduct regular property inspections and report detailed updates on building status.
• Collaborate across departments to meet the resort’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives.
• Manage service contracts and vendor performance to guarantee quality maintenance services.
• Provide technical guidance on health and safety compliance.
• Support major renovation and construction projects alongside the Director of Engineering.
• Ensure emergency and firefighting equipment are maintained to top standards and staff are trained in emergency procedures.
• Lead by example, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork within the engineering department.

What You Bring:

• Proven leadership experience managing large teams (up to 45 employees), preferably in luxury hospitality or a related sector.
• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Relevant licenses and permits according to Greek legislation.
• Excellent command of both Greek and English, spoken and written (fluency in Greek is mandatory).
• Valid European Union passport is required.
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety).
• Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office, BMS, and AutoCAD.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to upholding Four Seasons’ high standards of quality, safety, and guest service.
