Description

   We are seeking an experienced Assistant Chief Engineer to support the daily operation and maintenance of our full-service hotel. This leadership role assists in overseeing the Engineering team, maintaining guest rooms and hotel facilities, coordinating preventive maintenance, and ensuring a safe, well-maintained environment for our guests and associates. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical skills, a commitment to quality, and a passion for hospitality. 

· Assist with supervision of maintenance operations for the hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventative maintenance, hotel rooms, A\C and heating units, ice machines, swimming pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, roof exhausts, electrical substations, etc.

· Ensure all projects are completed on time and according to specifications.

· Work closely with other departments to ensure coordination of activities.

· Aid and instruct craftsmen in scheduling work, ordering material, and completing assignments by a specified date.

· Comply with an ongoing maintenance program.

· Assist with performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.

· Tend air conditioners, cooling towers and boilers to provide heat, cool air, and hot water for guests.

· Maintain standards of quality guest service.

· Increase level of guest satisfaction by delivery of an exceptional product through employee development. 

Respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.

Requirements

  

· Must have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.

· Ability to assist with the design and preparation of statistical reports and presentations as needed.

· Ability to accurately report information. 

· Ability to scrupulously follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures.

Attend required meetings. 

· Minimum lifting of 70 pounds.

· Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity.

· Hearing, writing, typing.

· Minimum pulling of 70 pounds.

Other duties may be assigned. 

Skills Required

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors
  • Experience supervising maintenance operations and leading engineering/maintenance staff
  • Proven experience with refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, HVAC units, ice machines, pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, roof exhausts, electrical substations, cooling towers, and boilers
  • Ability to perform minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and related maintenance activities
  • Ability to assist with design and preparation of statistical reports and presentations as needed
