Part timeThe Assistant Director of Development serves as a strategic partner to the Director of Development in advancing sustainable Ministry Partnership Development (MPD) across the Mid-Atlantic Region. This position provides operational, coaching, and programmatic leadership for the Access Pathway Fellows (APF) Network Capacity Building Program while supporting regional fundraising initiatives, donor engagement events, and staff development efforts.The Assistant Director of Development advances the mission of InterVarsity by helping under-networked staff develop sustainable support-raising capacity, cultivating strategic partnerships, and strengthening the infrastructure necessary for long-term ministry growth.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Access Pathway Fellows Program Leadership (50%)
- Assist in the administration and implementation of the APF Network Capacity Building Program.
- Support participant onboarding, orientation, and integration into InterVarsity’s Fully Resourced Program.
- Track participant progress toward individualized fundraising and development benchmarks.
- Provide one-on-one coaching to APF participants as assigned.
- Support development of fundraising strategies, donor communication plans, and network expansion goals.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly program assessments.
- Assist in planning and executing regional MPD trainings, workshops, retreats, and fundraising events.
- Coordinate logistics, communications, registrations, and follow-up for development-related events.
- Support donor engagement opportunities and stewardship efforts.
- Assist with presentations, reports, proposals, and fundraising materials.
- Support Metro DC and Southern Maryland MPD efforts and confernces
- Support regional development initiatives and special projects.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development to implement strategic priorities.
- Growing relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to InterVarsity’s mission.
- Experience in fundraising, coaching, nonprofit leadership, or related fields preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- Experience facilitating training, coaching, or leadership development preferred

Pay Range: $44,016.00 - $58,680.00 per yearPay: This position is funded through personal fundraising. Accordingly, compensation will vary based on the ability of the individual to secure a donor team to fund the cost of his/her salary. The anticipated salary range for this position on a full-time basis (40 hours/week) is dependent on a variety of factors, including location and cost of living. The actual salary received, including any geographic adjustment to account for location and cost of living, is subject to the individual’s ability to raise funds necessary to cover the full amount of such salary within the range set forth in the job posting details.
