Assistant Director, Data Analyst

Summary
As a member of the Office of the Chief of Staff for the Chief Insurance Officer, you will focus on exploring critical business questions and leveraging data and insights from across the company to create a POV on business decisions and opportunities. In addition, you will drive the formation of dashboards and data feeds that will help the Insurance Leadership Team see patterns and insights that will increase our effectiveness in reaching our outcomes.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Surface data from across the organization and analyze it in a way that helps us objectively unlock insights for our business decisions
- Develop a functional dashboard that encompasses sales results, service level results and operational metrics from across the function
- Create visuals using data that tell a story and unlock insight
- Network across the organization to better understand the context of the data being obtained
- Conduct analysis of external data and trends and put it into the context of NM's business model to bring about new insights and strategic areas of opportunity
- Create factbases and identify proof points for the CIO to leverage in communications and key presentations
- Help develop functional POVs on key topics related to the future of our business
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred.
- 10 or more years of experience at a leadership level in data, strategy, or product development.
- Demonstrated experience in Power BI and data visualizations, or an aptitude to learn
- Extensive experience creating insights from disparate data points and connecting those insights to strategy.
- Research experience, preferably with products in the financial services industry; benchmarking, competitor profiles, internal and external sourcing
- Strong analytic skills, to include, extracting industry insights, interpreting data/information and making recommendations

Pay Range - Start:
$90,930.00
Pay Range - End:
$168,870.00
Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
