Job Description Summary

Takes primary responsibility for forecasting MILE course demand and sharing this information with the Provost and deans to help guide appropriate course scheduling. Leads MILE course cluster pilots in collaboration with divisional representatives, including: creating cluster themes, surveying incoming students regarding cluster preferences, and working with advisors to pre-enroll incoming students. Work with relevant offices to ensure the integrity and clarity of microcredentials. Track student progress toward completion of MILE graduation requirements to ensure there are no graduation bottlenecks. Serve as the primary contact for tagged and general transfer courses for OT36. Take primary responsibility for student petitions for MILE course credit.

Job Description

Essential Duties:

  • Lead strategic curricular planning (including demand/supply forecasting) for MILE classes, in consultation with the MILO Director, Provost and divisional deans. Take primary responsibility for managing the MILE course approval process

  • Track course scheduling and enrollment as well as student demand for MILE courses

  • Facilitate and coordinate MILE course clusters, including: calls for cluster themes and course proposal, surveying students regarding cluster preferences, and working with advisors to pre-enroll students

  • Collaborate closely with Asst Director for Professional and Experiential Learning  and Miami Online to ensure that ASC courses align with Microcredentials in strategic ways

  • Serve as the primary contact for tagged and general transfer courses for OT36

  • Take primary responsibility for reviewing student petitions for MILE course credit

  • Based on assessment and other data, suggest faculty development opportunities to improve the quality of ASC and cluster courses as well as course proposals 

  • Track Civics course scheduling and completion to ensure that there are no graduation bottlenecks

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 3 years of experience in a relevant area (may include work in advising, registrar’s office, course scheduling, UG or grad program leadership, etc)

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Workday

  • An understanding of OT36

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to use software tools to assist with curricular forecasting, scheduling, and reporting

  • Knowledge of state policies regarding higher education curriculum
