Lincoln Tech in Mahwah, NJ is looking for an Assistant Director of Career Services to help lead our career services operations and drive graduate employment outcomes. This role combines hands-on career coaching with operational leadership--you'll work directly with students and graduates while also training and developing our career services team.
You'll partner with the Director of Career Services to oversee day-to-day operations, manage staff, and ensure we're meeting placement goals. This is a role for someone who can balance strategic thinking with execution, and who thrives in an environment where results matter.
Responsibilities of an Assistant Director of Career Services
- Support the Director of Career Services in managing department operations and achieving placement targets
- Train, develop, and supervise career services support staff
- Provide one-on-one career coaching and job search assistance to students and graduates
- Delivery of workshops on resume writing, interviewing, and professional development
- Build and maintain relationships with local employers to create job opportunities
- Develop a pipeline of qualified job opportunities aligned with graduate skills and training
- Plan and execute on-campus job fairs, employer presentations, and recruiting events
- Track graduate employment outcomes and maintain contact until successful placement
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with accreditation standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to support student and graduate success
Requirements of an Assistant Director of Career Services
- 2+ years of relevant Career Services experience
- Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding placement goals
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong communication skills--comfortable presenting to groups and building relationships
- Operational mindset with strong organizational and project management abilities
- Experience training and developing staff
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to learn new technology platforms quickly
- Results-driven with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
