The Assistant Director of Ark Operations serves as a strategic partner to the Director of Operations and a vital bridge across the leadership team, ensuring the seamless daily execution of the Ark Encounter. Operating alongside both the Director and department managers, this role functions as a trusted resource, tactical integrator, and collaborative sounding board. Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.

  • Oversee and promote the spiritual, personal, and professional development of all team members being led.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and peer-mentor to department managers, helping to build the alignment and buy-in necessary to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with the Director of Operations to champion the spiritual and professional development of the team, acting as a sounding board to help managers navigate daily operational challenges.
  • Assist to cultivate a high-trust environment characterized by cross-departmental collaboration and staff appreciation.
  • Facilitate effective communication, ensuring managers and staff have the context they need, and the Director has accurate operational feedback from the team.
  • Work alongside department managers to continuously evaluate daily systems, tools, and workflows, helping them identify friction points and enact improvements.
  • Assist managers in researching process gaps and departmental needs, acting as a collaborative partner to formulate and present high-ROI recommendations to the Director of Operations
  • Conduct regular operational walk-throughs and calibrations alongside, or on behalf of, the Director to ensure compliance with SOPs and service standards.
  • Proactively identify physical touchpoint needs (e.g., signage, guest flow, facility conditions) and coordinate with the appropriate teams to maintain a seamless guest environment.
  • Collaborate with managers to review personnel allocation and material logistics, helping them balance exceptional customer service with efficient labor management.
  • Assist in the development and monthly evaluation of departmental revenue and expense budgets.
  • And all other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualifications

Requirements

  • Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3-years operational leadership experience, preferably within large-scale hospitality, themed attractions, high-volume retail, or complex event logistics

Skills Required
