The Opportunity:
The Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement is embedded within UCF’s Barry S. Miller College of Business, leading the development and execution of events and programs that build alumni relationships and grow annual giving. This role is a key connector between the college and its graduates, creating meaningful engagement opportunities that turn alumni pride into lasting philanthropic support.
Responsibilities:
Plan and lead college-based events that strengthen alumni connections, drawing on established university-wide alumni programs such as regional networking events, community service initiatives, and game-day gatherings.
Champion the university's annual giving day within the college, building awareness and participation among alumni, faculty, staff, and students.
Recruit, train, and evaluate volunteers who support the college's alumni chapter, mentorship program, and other engagement activities.
Build and expand a mentorship program for college alumni and students through UCF's online alumni networking platform.
Contribute content for alumni communications, including email, web, social media, direct mail, text outreach, and college-specific newsletters, applying best practices to boost engagement.
Conduct one-on-one outreach to alumni through in-person, phone, and virtual conversations to build relationships and identify engagement opportunities.
Support full participation from the college's alumni board members.
Work with the university's central alumni team to grow the number of college alumni registered on the online networking platform and encourage repeat use.
Track and report on alumni engagement activity using the university's donor and alumni database to measure progress against program goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education alumni relations, advancement, or a related development function.
Experience managing vendor relationships or contracts through a full lifecycle, including renewals and payment tracking.
Demonstrated experience planning and executing events, ideally with a fundraising or engagement component.
Experience recruiting, training, or managing volunteers or program participants.
Familiarity with donor or constituent relationship management (CRM) systems such as Blackbaud CRM, Raisers Edge, or Salesforce.
Experience creating content for email, social media, or web communications.
Experience with annual giving campaigns or peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with comfort in public-facing and one-on-one settings.
Experience working within a college or academic unit inside a larger university structure.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $48,722 - $57,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

The anticipated pay scale indicated for this position generally applies to candidates who meet the minimum requirements and several of the preferred qualifications outlined above.
