Whitney Oaks Care Center is looking for a dependable, food-loving Assistant Dietary Manager to help lead our kitchen team and keep our residents well-fed, healthy, and happy. What You'll Do
  • Support the Dietary Manager in supervising day-to-day kitchen operations and dietary staff
  • Help direct meal preparation and service for regular and therapeutic diets, following physician orders and approved menus
  • Check trays for accuracy before they go out to residents
  • Assist with ordering food and supplies and maintaining budget guidelines
  • Process new diet orders and diet changes, and keep diet cards current
  • Help train, schedule, and supervise dietary staff, filling in for the Dietary Manager as needed
  • Maintain kitchen and food storage areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition in compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Assess resident food preferences and allergies to support a quality dining experience
  • Participate in QA and care planning meetings as assigned
  • Support inspections and help ensure ongoing compliance with health and safety regulations
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) coursework/certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
  • Prior experience in a long-term care or healthcare dietary department preferred
  • Basic math skills (fractions, percentages, ratios) for recipe scaling and inventory
  • Ability to read and follow recipes, policies, and procedures
  • Strong communication skills with residents, families, and staff
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • A positive, team-first attitude and genuine care for our residents
