Assistant Designer, Shoes
ANINE BING is seeking a Non-Apparel Assistant Designer to join our Design team and play a key role in the footwear division.
This individual will support the development of innovative and high-quality shoe designs, collaborating with the team to bring footwear concepts to life.
The ideal candidate thrives in both independent and collaborative environments and demonstrates a strong attention to detail while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
This role is based at our Paris HQ.
Responsibilities Include
- Coordinate prototype corrections and communicate with factories during seasonal shoe development.
- Develop detailed tech packs, including Bill of Materials (BOM) and construction specifications.
- Attend fittings, update tech packs with changes, and manage material and component sourcing for seasonal footwear collections.
- Maintain a design calendar and manage line sheets throughout the development phase.
- Organize development samples and materials in the design office.
- Approve bulk material and component submissions for production and attend Proto Review meetings with the Executive team.
- Maintain clear and timely email correspondence with overseas factories to ensure seamless communication.
- Set up boards and organize samples for milestone meetings.
- Archive and organize seasonal sample collections.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design preferred.
- 1 year of experience in a Women’s Contemporary brand.
- Tech savvy with expertise in Excel, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Working knowledge of garment construction is a must.
- Must be a team player, have ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and take initiative.
- Works well in a collaborative team environment and can take direction and feedback with utmost professionalism.
- Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change.
