Job Description
Position Overview:
As we expand our loan product, we’re looking for a detail-oriented and agile Assistant Controller to help us scale our financial operations with accuracy, control, and strategic insight. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key finance leader in a growing fintech environment, driving process improvements, ensuring compliance, and supporting the financial health of a new product line.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Lead and support accounting functions related to Snap’s loan product
- Assist in managing the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidated financial reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP and industry-specific requirements
- Maintain and improve internal controls and compliance standards
- Partner with Product, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure accurate accounting for loan related activities
- Support audits (external and internal) and work with external advisors on regulatory reporting related to loan product
- Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of scalable systems and processes that can support a growing loan portfolio
- Mentor and guide accounting team members with a focus on fintech and consumer credit best practices
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred)
- 4+ years of accounting experience, with experience in the consumer lending or banking space
- Proven success working in fast-paced environments or high-growth startups
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and strong Excel skills
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, proactive mindset
- Familiarity with SOX controls, financial audits, and fintech infrastructure
