What you'll do:
- Play a key role in our business transformation efforts as we scale on a high-growth trajectory and will have the opportunity to work on projects that revamp and modernize the end-to-end accounting and financial reporting cycles
- Oversee state and local compliance for payroll, sales and use taxes, working with third-party advisors as needed. Partner with The People Team as needed to support payroll and leave of absence administration
- Own and support the acceleration and maturation of our monthly-close process by streamlining tasks, automating reporting and enhancing controls
- Lead accounting projects and provide technical accounting support on various business transactions and complex accounting matters
- Partner with cross-functional teams on a regular basis to identify areas for improvement and solve problems
- Assist in the creation of detailed narratives of procedures and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal quality controls
- Assist with the preparation and review of reconciliations of various general ledger accounts
- Help prepare quarterly financial statements and provide accounting support on financial reporting projects
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
About you:
- Excellent documentation skills, research and resolution skills, and data analysis.
- Degree(s) in Accounting
- At least 10 years experience in public and/or private accounting. CPA/CA preferred.
- Self motivated to meet goals in a fast-paced, challenging environment with strong leadership skills and the ability to drive process improvements
- Controllership experience, including knowledge of best practices and procedures with proven thought leadership skills including ability to identify, lead and implement process efficiencies and value-added solutions
- Proven supervisory and managerial skills, including ability to take charge, ensure accountability and provide team leadership and guidance
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including familiarity with ASC 606 and 842
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
