Overview: Mallory Alexander International Logistics, a global third-party logistics company (3PL) headquartered in Memphis, TN has an immediate opening for an Assistant Controller at our corporate office. This position is onsite; standard business hours are Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm.
Responsibilities
- Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations, fixed asset management, and prepaid asset management
- Prepare month-end journal entries, including depreciation, prepaids and accruals
- Prepare financial statements to summarize the company’s financial status
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports
- Produce and manage balance sheets
- Assist with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization
- Identify solutions to discrepancies in financial records
- Work with the company financial team to create and implement internal controls, policies and procedures
- Assist with related special projects, as required
Qualifications
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Highly skilled in math, accounting and financial processes
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Self-motivated and driven to thrive in a team environment as well as working independently
- Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Experience in a public accounting firm strongly preferred
- Accounts Payable management experience helpful but not required
