Position Summary:

The Assistant Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) assists in overseeing accounting and financial reporting functions, preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements, and supporting the preparation and monitoring of annual and monthly operating budgets. Under the direction of the CFO, this role is directly responsible for daily financial operations, financial statement preparation and analysis, and cash management.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist the CFO in administering general accounting, patient business services, third-party reimbursement, and financial/statistical reporting functions
  • Prepare, analyze, and monitor monthly financial statements and operating budgets
  • Assist in development of long- and short-range operational and financial plans
  • Monitor hospital financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Recommend and support budget modifications and departmental budget development
  • Direct preparation of internal financial reports and audit work papers
  • Maintain subsidiary financial records and prepare financial statements
  • Implement and monitor accounting controls and procedures
  • Supervise facility-level Controllers and provide leadership and performance oversight
  • Support ethics and compliance initiatives in alignment with company standards
  • Assist in cost reduction strategies and revenue enhancement initiatives
  • Ensure timely submission of required financial reports to government and regulatory agencies
  • Provide oversight or support for data processing, materials management, and medical records functions
  • Act with full authority of the CFO in their absence
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Education and Certifications):

  • CPA or Master’s Degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience at the Controller level in an acute-care, for-profit hospital required
  • Strong leadership presence with a hands-on, team-oriented approach
  • Approachable, collaborative, and professional demeanor

Skills Required
