The Role – Overview
Assist the Director of Engineering in all aspects of hotel and building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, HVAC refrigeration, interior, paint and decorating, and respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons’ policies.
Key Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist in the hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, counseling, and evaluation of performance and planning the activities of maintenance staff including making spot checks on a daily basis.
2. Ensure proper execution of work order/request system and that items are followed up on when necessary.
3. Prepare requisitions for purchase and work orders and liaise effectively with the Director of Purchasing.
4. Implement preventive maintenance schedules, policies and rules to ensure an efficient department.
5. Maintain logs on movement of stock items and tools and monitor distribution of items.
6. Comply with and enforce Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
7. Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
8. Ensure that meter readings are taken daily on heat, light and review information to evaluate consumption.

Skills Required
- Supervise, hire, train, schedule, counsel, and evaluate maintenance staff
- Hands-on maintenance skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, steam, gas, and fire & safety systems
- Implement and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and work order systems
- Prepare requisitions and coordinate with Purchasing for parts and work orders
- Maintain inventory and tool logs and monitor distribution
- Take and review daily meter readings for heat and light to evaluate consumption
- Comply with and enforce Four Seasons work rules and standards (EmPact)
- Respond to guest and staff inquiries professionally to achieve high customer satisfaction
