Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Camp Manager to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Camp Manager to ensure the smooth operation of our camp facilities and programs, providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all campers and staff.

  • Assist in the day-to-day management and operation of the camp, including scheduling, staff supervision, and program implementation
  • Collaborate with the Camp Manager to develop and execute engaging camp activities and events
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a secure environment for campers and staff
  • Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment, placing orders as needed
  • Handle camper and parent inquiries, addressing concerns promptly and professionally
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of camp staff
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on camp operations
  • Assist in developing and implementing camp policies and procedures
  • Step in for the Camp Manager in their absence, overseeing all camp operations
  • Promote a positive and inclusive camp culture that respects diversity and fosters personal growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Education, or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in camp management or a related field
  • Proficiency in camp management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning and coordination
  • Knowledge of youth development principles and outdoor recreation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions in fast-paced environments
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience working with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during camp sessions
  • Physical ability to participate in camp activities and assist with setup and breakdown of equipment
  • Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
  • Familiarity with local regulations and cultural norms in Qatar
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive camp atmosphere
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations and camp needs

Skills Required
