As part of the US Business Development (BD) team, this role supports day-to-day needs of team members and practice group lawyers in the execution of strategic go-to-market initiatives that generate new client relationships, enhance brand profile, and drive revenue opportunities.

The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated, detail-oriented individual who shows ambition, determination and the desire to develop a career in business development. We are looking for a candidate who can quickly build rapport with key stakeholders and work closely with peers and senior marketing staff to provide tactical support of initiatives, including maintaining the department’s databases, handling research requests, proofreading, and assisting with events.

This position reports into the Manager for Disputes. The position is based in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support strategic business development initiatives and events, including conferences, client presentations and seminars

  • Maintain and update litigation experience databases (e.g., Foundation)

  • Draft and proofread client bids, presentations, RFPs and external publications

  • Organize and update content for go-to-market initiatives

  • Conduct research on companies, executives and market trends

  • Assist with legal directory submissions (Chambers, Legal 500) and industry surveys

  • Promote firm news and insights via social media platforms

  • Help onboard new team members and support lateral integration as needed

  • Update web content, practice descriptions and marketing collateral

  • Other duties

Skills and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required; marketing or communications qualification a plus

  • 1-3 years’ experience in professional services, consulting, corporate or law firm environment

  • Experience supporting events or marketing initiatives preferred

  • Familiarity with legal industry databases and research tools preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and with ambiguity

  • Personable, proactive and eager to learn new systems (e.g., Interaction, Foundation)

  • Skilled at building relationships with colleagues, clients and senior leaders

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Demonstrates our business principles of quality, unity and integrity
