Assistant Attending (Nocturnist)

The Hospital Medicine Service in the Division of Supportive and Acute Care Services, Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a full-time nocturnist faculty member at the Assistant Attending level. We are a team of over 45 faculty (including both day hospitalists and nocturnists) with a focus on internal medicine and oncology. The majority of our faculty are internal medicine trained/boarded; no specific training in medical oncology is required. Our available nocturnist positions are primarily focused on overnight coverage of the inpatient medicine service at Memorial Hospital.

Responsibilities include:

• Admitting patients to the medical service
• Providing cross-coverage of inpatients
• Supervising and teaching house staff
• 7 PM to 7 AM shifts with flexible scheduling
• 146 shifts per year including weekends.
• Participation in quality improvement projects and research, if interested

For this position, candidates are required to have:

• Graduated from an ACGME-accredited residency program
• Superb clinical and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team
• Superior communication skills
• Familiarity with clinical research.
• Board certification or board eligibility in internal medicine. 
• Strong palliative medicine skills are a plus (subspecialty training not required)
• Eligibility for licensure in New York State

Salary Range: $275,000 – $450,000
