The Director of Sports Information and Game Management provides leadership for athletic communications, digital media, game operations, and event management for 18 intercollegiate athletic programs. This position serves as the primary media contact for all athletic teams, oversees athletic branding and storytelling, manages athletic communications platforms, and ensures successful execution of home athletic contests while maintaining compliance with conference and NCAA requirements.What You'll Do
- Lead all athletic communications efforts, serving as the primary media contact for 18 men's and women's sports programs.
- Manage and grow the Athletic Department's digital presence through social media strategy, content creation, photography, video editing, graphics, website administration, and brand management.
- Create and distribute compelling communications, including press releases, feature stories, game programs, newsletters, and promotional materials highlighting student-athletes and athletic achievements.
- Coordinate media relations with local, regional, and national outlets while ensuring accurate statistical reporting and conference/NCAA compliance.
- Oversee athletic livestreaming operations and maintain the athletics website, record books, and other key communications platforms.
- Plan and execute game day operations, including staffing, media access, facility readiness, public address coordination, and fan engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with University Relations, Athletics leadership, alumni, and community partners on special events, fundraising activities, marketing initiatives, and strategic communications projects.
- Support the Director of Athletics with departmental operations, staffing initiatives, organizational planning, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in sports information, communications, marketing, athletics administration, or a related field.
- Experience supporting collegiate athletics communications, including media relations, statistical reporting, and event coverage.
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and athletics software platforms, including Presto and Genius.
- Strong writing, editing, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of social media management, digital content creation, website administration, and brand stewardship.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, travel, and athletic events as required.
